The Cornerstone Christian School

Career Exploration Continues

Last Updated 1/24/2023Posted in Roar Articles

Our lunchtime Career Chats are off to a great start! This has proven to be an excellent way for students to learn about a variety of careers - some they didn't know existed!

We have hosted a naturopath, and an APRN to share about careers in medical fields. The next week three professionals from engineering fields joined us. We even hosted a special presentation about Travelers and the many career opportunities available in large corporations like insurance companies.

One theme has remained consistent throughout all three sessions - keep the doors, and your mind, open.  It has been inspiring to hear the journey that these professionals have taken to get from high school to their current careers.

The message can be summed up in this advice from Alissa Watson, APRN,  "Shadow if possible. Keep all doors open. Trust that God has you and your back; He is for you. Focus on what's important. Listen to God's leadings and learn from the Holy Spirit. Be excited and expectant."

We are looking forward to our upcoming Career Chats throughout February.
