K-prep has been learning about all the different careers that God may call them to when they grow up. They expressed interest in jobs from nurses and doctors, to princesses and power rangers, and to jobs involving animals, like Veterinarians and Farmers. When discussing the endless possibilities, I began to reach out to different occupations that I felt the kids could learn about through engaging hands on activities. To expand opportunities (especially for those animal loving kids)I contacted Tails of Joy and was quickly conversing with Jan about arranging a visits for her to bring her dog Sophie to our class! She gave them all kisses which the student thought was so funny! "She just keeps loving me!" one student said between giggles and dog kisses. We talked about how a therapy dogs job is to make people smile, even when they may not feel happy! They have to be trained to follow directions and be very gentle and patient, just as Sophie was with them. We got to see first hand how God called Jan and Sophie to this career and helps our community to be a happier place!
