Alumni Spotlight: The Light House
Staff from The Light House provided professional development during our CCS Teacher Orientation this fall. You may be wondering, what or who is The Light House?
The Light House is a newly opened mental health agency that brings together a combination of licensed clinicians and pastoral counselors to serve the community in a variety of ways. The Light House is owned and operated by CCS Alumna, Suzy (Dagon) Williams, Class of 1998. Her goal when founding this business was to provide an environment where the best research-based practices could be implemented alongside biblical principles. The Light House is located less than one mile from Cornerstone and fulfills a unique need in our community by bringing together a variety of professionals that work together under one roof to provide services to all ages.
What makes The Light House dear to Cornerstone is that it is one evidence of the difference a Christian Education can make. Suzy is not the only connection to Cornerstone. In fact, you could say that Cornerstone served as the bridge that connected each of the staff members to each other! Katie (Ruitto) Jordan LMSW, CCS Class of 2016, is an on-staff social worker with a focus on serving children and teens through both individual and group sessions. Also on staff are several Cornerstone parents and a former CCS teacher!
It is such a blessing to see how God used Cornerstone to bring together these staff members and to make an impact in our community.
